Senior Congress leader Siddaramaiah will be the next chief minister of Karnataka and DK Shivkumar will be his deputy. Finally, the Congress party has reached the decision. The swearing-in ceremony will take place on Saturday, May 20, 2023.
The Congress party has handed over the command of Karnataka to Siddaramaiah, while DK Shivakumar has been made the Deputy Chief Minister, according to party general secretary KC Venugopal at the Congress headquarters on Thursday, reported HS.
Venugopal said, both our leaders Siddaramaiah and Shivakumar have the ability to run the state. Both have worked very hard in Karnataka elections. In such a situation, the party has made Siddaramaiah the Chief Minister and DK Shivakumar the Deputy Chief Minister of Karnataka.
Venugopal further said that Shivakumar will continue as the President of the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) till the end of the parliamentary elections. He said that on May 20, there will be a swearing-in ceremony, in which a group of ministers will also take oath along with the Chief Minister and the Deputy Chief Minister.
Meanwhile, the Karnataka Congress legislature party will meet in Bengaluru this evening. Karnataka Congress President DK Shivakumar called the meeting at 7:30 PM. All Congress MLAs elected in the recently concluded assembly elections, the Members of the Legislative Council and the Members of Parliament from Karnataka have been invited to the meeting.
