The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is going to revamp its organisational network and host regional and district-level meetings as part of a vital exercise ahead of the forthcoming urban local bodies (ULB) elections from December 12. The decision has been made at a meeting presided over by UP BJP chief Bhupendra Chaudhary at the party headquarters in Lucknow, attended by the state general secretary (organisation) Dharampal Singh and party co-in-charge Satya Kumar.
The meeting emphasised the need of strengthening divisional units, booths, and 'panna' committees in preparation for the 2024 parliamentary elections. Singh specifically mentioned the party's organisational gathering in Delhi a few days ago. According to the Hindusthan Samachar, the UP BJP president stated that the candidates for the different ULB seats will be chosen together. The party would form a "screening committee" to analyse the names and "winnability" possibilities of the candidates. He stated that the party will seek support from all segments of society and communities.
Possibility of investment in Kashi
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also sounded the bugle for the civic body elections. In his address, he asked business people, entrepreneurs and intellectuals to explore the possibility of investment in Kashi. The Chief Minister asked for cooperation in forming a triple-engine government with a double engine to build a new UP of a new India by accelerating growth at bullet train speed.
Triple engine government to ensure development
The CM asked everyone to make the dream of Prime Minister Narendra Modi come true in the local municipal elections. CM Yogi said there is a need for a triple-engine government and double-engine government in the state. Triple engine government will ensure development programs of the central and state government are implemented at the local level in the same way. The Chief Minister highlighted the development works done in UP and Kashi.
